What’s your design process like?
Our process starts with an in-depth meeting to understand your lifestyle, values, and style. From there, we develop a personalized design plan that’s beautiful, eco-friendly, and cruelty-free. First, we create a conceptual design with a color palette, floor plan, and investment estimate to ensure we are on the right track. Next we get into specific pieces of furniture, fabrics, lighting, floor coverings, and such for the final design. We guide you through materials, layouts, furnishings, and finishes with full transparency and care.
How are your design fees structured?
Our design fee is a flat rate based on the size and scope of your project — no hourly billing, no surprise add-ons. Half is due at signing, and the remainder is collected before your first design presentation. After the design is finalized, all purchases to realize the design are made through ecc interiors and billed at retail pricing (MSRP or equivalent). It’s simple, transparent, and keeps things focused on design, not paperwork.
How much should I plan to spend on my project?
Every home and every client is different—but here’s a general starting point for fully furnished and finished rooms:
• Living Room: $40,000+
• Dining Room: $30,000+
• Home Office: $20,000+
• Primary Bedroom: $30,000+
This includes furnishings, lighting, textiles, window treatments, and accessories, but does not include materials purchased for contractor work such as painting or floor refinishing. Renovations or custom-built elements are priced separately and can vary widely based on the space. Design fees are separate and paid upfront.
How long does an interior design project take?
Most design projects unfold in two phases. First, the design phase typically takes 2 to 4 months—this is when we create your vision, make selections, and finalize the design. Then, implementation begins: ordering, tracking, custom fabrications, and installations usually take 6 to 8 months or more, depending on vendor lead times and any renovation work involved.
Do you work with existing furniture or only source new pieces?
We love blending existing pieces with new, sustainable finds. Repurposing or reimagining what you already own can reduce waste, save money, and add meaningful character to your home.
